Product Details

The Heritage building has 28 rooftop floors filled with architectural treasure s for us to view and enjoy. North west and east view took my breath away when I saw it for the first time. After silently watching the Crain communication building, Aon center, the prudential plaza. and the IBM building, I came to realize that I have a new subject, and I need to create a painting that will convey my feelings toward the cityscape that I love. Each of the buildings in this painting, has a history of their own worth exploring and visiting.

The Crain building was originally called Associates Center. It was completed in 1984. The building, noted for its unusually slanted facade, was designed by Sheldon Schlegman of A. Epstein and Sons.

The Aon Center was completed in 1974 [4] as the Standard Oil Building.

It was designed by architecture firms Edward Durell Stone and The Perkins and Will partnership.

The Two Prudential Plaza was Built in 1990 ; the building was designed by the firm Loebl Schlossman & Hackl , with Stephen T. Wright as the principal in charge of design. [2] It has been honored with 8 awards. Its distinctive shape features stacked chevron setbacks on the north and south sides, a pyramidal peak rotated 45°, and an 80-foot (24 m) spire. The building is attached to One Prudential Plaza (formerly known as the Prudential Building) since 1992.

IBM Plaza also known as the IBM Building and now renamed AMA Plaza/The Langham Hotel was designed by famed architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (who died in 1969 before construction began). IBM building is situated on a plaza overlooking the Chicago River.

Chicago’s Downtown never ceases to evolve, grow, and impress me, and specifically the cityscape, is one textured, and ever y -changing, and desperately calls out to me to transfer it to a canvas. This is one of 6 paintings that I created depicting Chicago s downtown.
