I knew Max for long time and his owner, Daniela, asked me several times to create a painting of him. My response was, "I have never touched a dog in my life!" Perhaps you are wondering why and yes, it stems from a childhood trauma with dogs. I got bit twice and when I see dogs, all I see is their teeth.

All these years Max and I looked at each other with curiosity and wonder. I have to say I started to dream about playing with Max without fear. I am getting better by swapping my fear with curiosity.

Max is small, hairy, and has very passionate and caring eyes. His breed is Maltese, and his eyes touched my heart. All I see in Max is his eye. Daniela, his owner, calls him a Renaissance man and she thinks that Max believes he is human.
